Not sure where to start in building inclusive environments?
Need support educating your team about affirming environments?
The Grand Rapids LGBTQ+ Healthcare Consortium is happy to provide training to groups large and small that are tailored to each requestor’s specific needs. While all trainings are unique to each request there are some basic objectives built into each training.
Here are a few examples of the trainings we have available:
Power of Pronouns – Attendees will explore pronouns, including neopronouns; explore how the words you use impact others, and share tools and tips to have positive interactions with everyone.
Power of Pronouns: A Business Case – The focus of this training is on how building an LGBTQ+ affirming environment within business impacts the bottom line.
A Place At The Table – Everyone wants to belong. In this educational offering we explore the drive behind this desire and the benefits to the community for making a place at the table for everyone.
The Affirming Care Environment – If you are an entity that provides care to others, regardless of their identity or demographics, ensuring the care you provide is affirming and patient centered will take your practice to the next level!
The Triple A’s: Ally, Advocate, Accomplice – In this workshop we explain/review the roles of the triple A’s including how/why someone might shift between them and the impact each of these make.
An Engaged Team: Practicing a Community of Inquiry – If you are supervising or precepting an LGBTQ+ individual this training will help you make the most of this experience and keep you on the right side of ethics and the law as well as set your team up to be authentic and engaged in being most productive.
Trauma Informed Care – With almost 25% of people living with past trauma it is important everyone understand how this continues to effect the person and their behavior and reactions. Learn what the statement “behavior is a symptom” means, and how you can incorporate this into your business.
Respect is the default – Attendees in these sessions explore how to get back to the art of having respectful conversations about potentially polarizing differences and move to a space of respect as the default.
We also lead Workshops, engage in Keynote Speaking, & Conferences.
We have partnered with a number of organizations including healthcare offices and systems, public schools, professional organizations, and more.
We will partner with anyone seeking to develop skills and environments to welcome & affirm.
The cost for providing trainings is $400-500 per hour of training. This covers the cost of developing the training as well as the time spent delivering the content. The rate for non-profit entities is $250 per hour.
